The Lebanese American School was established in 1992. The name reflects the presence of the two systems of education available at the school: the Lebanese and American curricula.
The L.A.S. follows the Lebanese and American system of education from Nursery to Grade 12 (High School), which is equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureate.
L.A.S considers English and Arabic the primary languages taught in school, though English is the primary language for those exempted from the Lebanese curriculum. The school also offers elective courses in French and German, as well as Arabic for foreigners or expatriates enrolled in the American Curriculum.
During the past years, the staff and community of LAS spent the school years in the incubation phase of designing and visioning a school that would better serve the academic, social, cultural and technological needs of the students in our area.
The Lebanese American School provides a quality learning environment which challenges all students to achieve their personal best and develop a futuristic vision. LAS is committed to excellence. We provide a quality educational system with transformational interactive technology integration.
Our mission is to improve student learning through the delivery of a rigorous, appropriate, and relevant course of study that will benefit the entire school community. Our school mission captures the spirit of the school and community.
After the 2019 coronavirus pandemic, the LAS still remains keen on making its teaching efforts hold their high academic results. Thus, it’s integration with online teaching is crucial.
The school provides its distant learning through important platforms such as Microsoft Teams which serves as a firm communicative base for its teachers. On one hand, the teachers are able to deliver their teaching services in a way that enables them to keep track of their students’ performance. On the other hand, students are able to stay in touch with their teachers through interactive sessions, video calls, and in-session messaging.
Sessions are recorded for students to re-watch whenever that is needed. The students can revise, write down any notes that they might have missed, or even watch a complete session if they needed to do so.
In order to deliver uninterrupted learning experiences, the school’s connectivity is the fastest there can be.
The school is subscribed to an internet service that ensures the fluidity of its information transferal.
The examination process still holds its credibility with the schools organized system of exam delivery and surveillance. In reality, a student’s efforts in staying focused and committed are never lost, and neither those of our teachers.
