Jazan University

Jazan University was established by Royal Decree No. (1396/M/B) issued on 04/30/1426 AH corresponding to 06/07/2005 AD. The colleges of: (Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, and Society) were the nucleus of the university. Then, the College of Education, which was established in 1401 AH (1981 AD), and the colleges of education for girls, which were established in 1412 AH (1992 AD) located in the region, were included. Then, other colleges were added to it, and their establishment continued; so that the number of colleges reached (23) colleges by the end of the year 1435 AH (2014 AD). Four university agencies, nine deanships, and eight institutes, centers, and support units were established at the university.

The total number of university students by the end of the year 1436 AH exceeded (56) thousand male and female students.

The number of faculty members and those in similar positions until the beginning of the year (1436 AH)
reached about (2500) members. A large site was allocated for the university city with an area of ​​(9,000,000) m2 on the Red Sea coast north of the city of Jazan. The foundation stone was laid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – on 10/14/1427 AH, corresponding to (11/15/2006 AD). A number of projects have been completed, others are nearing completion, and many projects are still under implementation.
