On December 31, 1957, the Kuwait National Museum was inaugurated.
At that time, it was located in the palace of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the Dasman area (formerly the Diwan of Sheikh Khazal). In 1976, the contents of the museum were moved to Bayt Al-Badr, one of Kuwait’s traditional houses, in preparation for the new museum, which opened in 1983.
The museum’s ancient, Islamic, and popular artifacts were transferred to the museum, which became a cultural and civilizational center with the goals and mission of preserving heritage and disseminating knowledge. The Kuwait National Museum includes:
1. The Popular Heritage Hall.
2. The Antiquities Hall.
3. The Planetarium Building.
4. Boom Al-Muhallab.
